It was Tuesday. That, I'm not sure now. Winter, that was for sure. By four, when I finally got home, the sun had set for a while already. When I turned to the frontyard, I noticed a white patch on the pavement, and looking at it carefully, found out that it was an old pair of knickers, flattened and probably sogged out by the rain.

-Saskia!, I shrieked. There's an old pair of knickers on the pavement, right in front of the house!
-Oh... You fancy a cup of tea?

I realised by the soft tone of her voice that she would probably have forgotten my delicious encounter if I did not give further details :

-But there's a gray waistband still on it, though a bit loose!
-Well I guess someone has lost it there and will pick it up eventually.
-...right... Green tea for me.

Soon Ony came back and I was glad to have someone to share my wonderful discovery with. As soon as I told him what I had found, he stared at me conspicuously, like he's judging me. Come on! I went, nothing happens in the neighbourhood usually, the ice-cream van, the postman once a day, two kids, and fuck all! That's the chance of our life ! We could dry it, or sell it on eBay, or loads of things...

-Or trash it.
-Yeah. That's a possibility.

And there we both went to pick it up with a pointed wood stick, and nobody came out suddenly to tell us how silly that was.
